Khiri's Fairy Door

I think this is one of maybe two pointed doors total I have made. I know I drew up a pattern for one, but I don't recall having to use it before this door. Well this was a commissioned piece for a young woman I know named Khiri who has lots of cute fairy stuff. When she moves and settles in I am hoping I can get an "action shot" of the door in with some of her other lovely fairy-themed items. Anyway, the colors in this door turned out perfect, and I am quite happy with it. I just hope she likes it too!

Fairy Doors are meant to add a little whimsy to your home or garden and invite the Fae folk to spend some time there. If they visit you the belief is that you will be blessed with luck and happiness. The hinges, doorknob and nails are made to look like hammered iron.
It is hand-sculpted of Fimo brand clay. This door has a piece of wire on the back you can hang it from, but it can also be propped up on a shelf, mantle, counter top or cupboard.
If you don't have pets or very young children you can also put it somewhere closer to the ground. Fairies don't mind a shoe-level view, as long as they don't get stepped on!
