Two Felted Scarves 1

Scarves I felted for my sister and my mom. The one with roses is for my sister, the Iris is for my mother because she loves this beautiful purple flower. I had a great time making these as Christmas gifts for my family.
Felting is a method of fusing fabric (or yarn, such as the green yarn here) to a base material (other fabric, like the white fleece) by laying one over the other and puncturing the layers repeatedly with a barbed needle or tool with multiple needles. This action causes the fibers of the two materials to twist and wrap together, creating one new fabric. The design becomes part of the material.
