Nicole's Fairy Balcony

Description

My second attempt at a Fairy Balcony, commissioned for a local who picked up my card at one of my shows. She looked over my doors and then described what she wanted, and I just loved the idea it brought into my head. I couldn't wait to create this one! I was a little rushed making this one, and I baked it as I cooled another batch and tried to add backings and take pictures (I had quite a busy day yesterday.)
Anyway, I LOVE how this one turned out! And she loved it too, so Mission Accomplished! :silentkitty:
Fairy Doors are meant to add a little whimsy to your home or garden and invite the Fae folk to spend some time there. If they visit you the belief is that you will be blessed with luck and happiness. The frame around the door is meant to resemble smooth gray stone, and there is a little ladybug making its way up the vines that cling to the balcony. The hinges, doorknob and nails are made to look like hammered iron.
It is hand-sculpted of Fimo brand clay. This door has a piece of wire on the back you can hang it from, but it can also be propped up on a shelf, mantle, counter top or cupboard.
If you don't have pets or very young children you can also put it somewhere closer to the ground. Fairies don't mind a shoe-level view, as long as they don't get stepped on!

Sorry for the dumb question but is that like a coloured clay or did you paint it? If so what type of paint?
